Welcome to HeartFelt Yoga!

I appreciate you taking some time to explore this information.

HeartFelt Yoga is a small yoga studio, located in the heart of Blackfalds, Alberta. Our studio shares the building with some other amazing businesses, such as Blackfalds Veterinary Clinic, Alpine Dental and Ing & McKee. You will find HeartFelt Yoga on the second floor of the building. The building is fully accessible with an elevator for your use.

The studio is bright & airy- with five large windows. Three of the windows are facing east, overlooking the big, beautiful Alberta sky. The decor gives HeartFelt Yoga a warm, homey feel. One student compared the experience of walking into the studio, with being enveloped in a big, cozy hug. We have a nice sitting area, with lots of plants. There is nothing like some greenery to add to the environment! You will also find a retail space, stocked with the supplies you need to support your yoga practice.

The heart of HeartFelt yoga is community! As mentioned above, HeartFelt yoga is small space. For this reason our class size is limited to 10 people. With a small, intimate group of people in the room- we get to know each other. To me, you are not just another face walking through the door. I want to get to know you and understand what brings you to the studio. This gives me an opportunity to offer a more personalised yoga experience for you.

So, who am I? My name is Sandra Thorne and I am the owner of HeartFelt Yoga. I have taught yoga all over Central Alberta since 2008. My training is diverse, (please find my extensive training bio below), and heavily influenced by the therapeutics of yoga. You will find my classes a little slower and also unpredictable. It’s important to me that everyone leaves my class feeling good within their physical body. For this reason, I give lots of options and variations during the practice. A good yoga practice gives us the ability to discern what our body, our mind and our spirit needs from moment to moment (on & off the mat) & a good yoga class offers you the opportunity to explore this in depth.

Because HeartFelt Yoga is a small, boutique studio, you won’t find multiple classes a day on the schedule. To learn more about HeartFelt classes, please head to the Class Information page. For those of you looking for a more private or one on one practice, I offer two options- a Private Yoga Class or Therapeutic Yoga. To round out my HeartFelt services, I also offer Reiki Sessions. Lastly, I regularly write HeartFelt Musings. This is a blog discussing different yoga and/or studio topics.

Who Is Roxanne….

An early riser, a girl trying to love her natural curls, a hopeful dreamer, a devoted family member, a loyal friend, always learning and willing to learn, a Yogi practitioner, an everything about yoga advocate, a mental health advocate, psychology enthusiast, a reader of all, a book hoarder, sky watcher (stars, lights, storms)  traveller -wanna be more, a volunteer, a sentimental sap, a caregiver, a great listener, encourager, people watcher, paddle boarder, skier, sometimes golfer, skater, fast walker, quiet and shy until I become the talker, loves music of all genres, seeker of quiet moments, podcasts, prefers Scrabble and Yahtzee. Pet parent and animal lover, camping and camp fires, barefoot summers and cozy quiet winters. A healthy food connoisseur with an occasional craving of gummy bears, mojos, cheese cake and ice cream. Resigned to black coffee, grateful for dark chocolate and enjoying matcha and chai tea lattes. Always excited with new notebooks, pens, sticky notes, and affirmation cards. Believes in community, showing kindness, being compassionate and sharing love. Learning to prioritize TLC for me, there is Only One Original.
